Who I Am

Trine Mandal Mortensen

I Lost My Heart

Sometimes you don’t know how you ended up being who you are or doing what you do. Other times you remember the exact moment when your life changed. My love affair with my camera started many, many years ago, when I was 14 and took a photography class in school. Though long ago, I can still remember the thrill I felt in my stomach when I saw the world through the viewfinder for the first time. I knew my life would never be the same. Since then I have seen the world in images.

I Followed My Heart

My camera became my companion and my playmate and I spent many happy hours photographing or in the darkroom waiting for that magic moment, when the image appeared on the paper. When I left school my initial plan was to be a photographer, but instead I chose university. I hold a M.A. in English and Film Studies and have also trained as a screen writer. But photography still had a firm grip of my heart. And life is short. So here I am – me and my camera.
