Inspired by the Old Masters of the Dutch Golden Age.

I’m in awe of the floral still lifes painted by Dutch Golden Age painters like Jan Davidsz. de Heem and Rachel Ruysch. In the still life paintings from this period the flowers or objects often have symbolic meaning. In my photographic still lifes I’m mainly inspired by their use of chiaroscuro lighting, composition and love of flowers.
